Mandatory Documents and Important Information

The following documents are required to collect the vehicle:

•A printed version of Rental Voucher

•Passport or Identification card

•A valid credit card in the name of the main driver

•A valid driving licence. If you're renting abroad (outside your country of residence, or outside where your license was issued), an international driver's license is usually required regardless of the alphabet.

Driving License: Drivers must be 25 years and have held a valid driving license for a minimum of 12 months.

Young Driver Fees: Young drivers surcharge is not included in the rental price. It is paid in the local currency at the rental desk. If you are between 21 and 24 years old you must pay a young driver surcharge of $10 per day.

MEX Rent a Car Optional Insurance (purchased locally):

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) MEX offers to all renters LDW, Loss Damage Waiver, which for an additional daily charge relieves the renter of all financial responsibility for the loss or damage to the rental car, as long as the vehicle is used in accordance with the terms of the Rental Agreement. Cost - $11.00 to $26.00 per rental day depending on the vehicle type and rental location. The exact amount is available with your car quote.

Rental Liability Protection (RLP) Primary insurance protecting you against claims made by third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained while operating the rental vehicle, up to the required financial responsibility limits of the state in which the vehicle is rented. RLP does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. The renter is financially responsible for all damages not covered under the liability policy including, but not limited to the MEX rental vehicles full value. Costs for RLP coverage varies by state, please see the costs detailed during your website reservation process.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) - Provides coverage for 3rd party automobile claims for the difference between the primary liability limits provided under the renters own personal policy and a maximum combined single limit of one million dollars for bodily injury and/or property damage but does not cover all situations that may arise while operating a rental vehicle. Costs for SLI coverage varies by state, please see the costs detailed during your website reservation process.

Personal Accident/Personal Effects Protection (PAC) - Personal Accident Coverage provides accidental death and accidental medical expense benefit to the renter and their passenger (s). The death and medical expense benefit will both pay in addition to any other coverage that might be applicable to the renter or passengers. Personal Effects Coverage offers limited protection against damage to personal effects owned by the renter, as well as immediate family members of the renter, who permanently reside in the renter’s household and are traveling with the renter. Cost - $4.99 per rental day.

Roadside Assistance Program (RSA) - If you purchase our Roadside Service Assistance (RSA) we will waive all, or a portion of, the cost of a roadside assistance service call up to the amount of $400.00 per incident. You may purchase RSA at $3.99 per rental day. Benefits include emergency road service towing (within 25 miles of occurrence), winching, jump start, flat tire change, lockout service, and emergency fuel delivery (up to two gallons).
