Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.
Travel Restrictions
Hertz vehicles may only be taken in the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain (not including the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom (including Northern Ireland).
Camper vans are not allowed to be taken to the UK.
Should you bring the vehicle outside France, a Cross Border fee of € 16.00 (including tax) will apply.
One-way returns are not available outside Corsica for vehicles rented on the island. Vehicles rented in Corsica must be returned to one of the Hertz locations in Corsica.
Please note a penalty charge of € 600.00 may apply, should you omit to declare you will be driving the vehicle out of France.
Security Kit:
All vehicles are equipped with a fluorescent jacket and a triangle free of charge.
Fluorescent jacket must be kept in the glove compartment. Triangle must be kept in the boot. If partially returned or not returned, there is a penalty fee of € 15.05 (including tax). When traveling into Spain from France, customers are requested to get an extra security kit. The second kit can be rented with an extra charge of € 10.03 (including tax).
Expert advice to make your journey go smoothly
Always ask for directions to the nearest gasoline station to the rental drop-off location. Keep your fuel sales slip as proof of refueling.
Take time to familiarize yourself with the vehicle controls before leaving the parking area
Fully inspect the vehicle for signs of damage and report them to the rental desk before leaving the parking area

When visiting a location for the first time, always choose a safe parking spot like a supervised parking lot
